An active member of the California bar since 2003, Kevin Kirby, Esq., began his career as a civil litigator at a prestigious boutique litigation firm in San Diego, CA. In addition to trying three solo civil trials to completion, Kevin has worked on a wide range of high profile civil matters against various corporate defendants and Fortune 500 companies. As a trial attorney, Kevin has utilized structured settlements in serious personal injury/wrongful death cases on behalf of his former firm.
Kevin also has substantial experience litigating in the areas of class actions, employment litigation, securities litigation, business contract disputes, real estate partnership disputes and environmental claims that arise under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA).
As a structured settlement consultant, Kevin is well suited to provide a unique brand of "attorney to attorney" litigation support within the structured settlement industry, including, but not limited to, providing economic/damages evaluations, mediation/negotiation support and impartial jury analysis. In short, Kevin can help plaintiff's attorneys identify the pertinent issues that touch and concern the favorable resolution of civil disputes by leveraging his legal experience as a structured settlement consultant. Kevin's primary goal is to assist claimants favorably settle their claims out of court, whenever practicable.
In addition to being a contributing writer for the Orange County Business Journal, Kevin has authored several published articles on the subjects of Tort Law, Products Liability Law, Contract Law, Environmental Law and Real Estate Law, including the practice of drafting favorable clauses in commercial agreements to strategically distribute risks between the parties.
